Jasmine Raab
President
Hi! My name is Jasmine Raab (she/they) and I’ll be Vice President for the 2022-23 year. I’m double majoring in Biology and History with a minor in Korean Studies, and this is my second year at UW. I work as an assistant at Shoreline Veterinary Hospital and as a volunteer at Seattle Area Feline Rescue. I’m interested in companion animal medicine and rehabilitation, and I currently live off-campus with my dog, Podo. I am very excited to learn and have fun with all of you this year!

Vivian Chen

Hi! My name is Vivian Chen (she/her) and I’ll be Vice President for the 2023-24 year. I’m a third year physiology-focused biology major with an environmental science minor at UW-Seattle. I work as an assistant at Eastlake Veterinary Hospital as well as conduct research at the de la Iglesia Lab. I’m not sure what I hope to specialize in yet, but I hope to find out during veterinary school. I am very excited to learn and have fun with all of you this year!

Annika Hennington
Event Coordinator
Hey! My name is Annika Hennington (she/her). I’m currently a second year majoring in Biology and I’m excited to be serving as this year’s Event Coordinator. I worked as an assistant in a small animal clinic over the summer and will be doing work this year in a microbiology lab that studies the effect of viral RNA sequencing on virus-host interactions. I’m mostly interested in small animal medicine, but am looking forward to exploring different specialties in the future. I love hanging out and cuddling with my four dogs and enjoy riding horses when I have time. I’m excited about the events that we have planned this year and I look forward to meeting you!

Hi everyone! My name is Olivia and I am really excited to be this years treasurer! I am currently a third year majoring in marine biology and minoring in business administration. I currently work as a lab assistant at Specialty VETPATH, along with fostering cats and kittens for the Seattle Humane! I am particularly interested in small animal medicine but am excited to explore different fields within the veterinary medicine. In my free time, I love reading, playing tennis, and am on the UW Equestrian team!

Dechen Sakya

Hello!! My name is Dechen Sakya (she/her) and I’m elated to be serving as this year’s secretary! I’m currently at a Neuroscience research lab at UW (Stuber lab) and an Immunology research lab (Iritani). In the past I’ve volunteered at human hospitals, sanctuaries, Woodland Park Zoo, and worked as a veterinary assistant for a while. I’m currently volunteering at the PAWS wildlife rehabilitation center and love it! I hope to gain more experience with reptiles and larger animals, and will continue to work towards becoming a veterinarian in the future. When I’m not studying I enjoy reading, watching movies, birdwatching, journaling, and being with friends
